The Apapa Customs Command has surpassed its 2019 revenue target of three hundred and seventy two billion naira with an excess of forty-one billion naira.
The command also made seizures valued at more than 12 billion naira.
TVC News Correspondent, Ifunanya Eze reports that the collection of a total sum of 413.7 billion naira from January to 19th December indicates that the command has so far generated 111% of its annual target.
Showcasing the seizures recorded Within the period under review, the command says it intercepted 112 containers of various items for gross violation of extant laws and import guidelines.
Most notable among the seizures are pharmaceutical products which include tramadol, cough syrups with codeine and performance enhancement drugs.
Others include tomato paste, bags of fertiliser, foreign parboiled rice and containers of groundnut oil.
Comptroller Abba- Kura called attention to a particular container loaded with branded empty sacks. The Customs said that seized goods will continue to be destroyed for as long as recurring issues of false declaration, concealment and attempts at duty evasion subsist.
