The Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, says there are 1,556 inmates in prisons across the state.

She disclosed this in Bauchi yesterday at a one-day summit on Justice Reforms and Human Rights in Bauchi State.

Umar, represented by the Deputy Chief Registrar Finance and Administration, Bauchi State High Court of Justice, Emmanuel Danjuma, said 408 holding charge cases from seven Chief Magistrate Courts were still awaiting legal advice from the Ministry of Justice.
