Festus Keyamo, spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Council, on Wednesday said President Muhammadu Buhari displayed the spirit of Jesus Christ by felicitating with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on his birthday.
The former president, who had clocked 82 yesterday is known to be at loggerhead with Buhari over the state of the nation.
During the just concluded presidential election, Obasanjo had endorsed Buhari’s closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
However, Buhari had congratulated Obasanjo on his birthday despite their differences.
Buhari, in a statement, had described Obasanjo as, “a passionate and great patriot who deserves accolades for his immeasurable contributions to our democracy and national unity.”
Reacting, Keyamo commended Buhari for his birthday message to Obasanjo despite their differences.
In a tweet, Keyamo wrote: “Jesus Christ said in Mark 5:44, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”.
“Instead of raining curses as some do, PMB just displayed the spirit of Christ here.”
