Edo CP lauds community partnership in crime fighting

BENIN CITY-The Commissioner of Police, Edo State CP Johnson Kokumo has commended community partnership in the fight, prevention and control of crime and criminality in the state.
He said the partnership had started yielding positive results across the state.
CP Kokumo stated this while taking delivery of two refurbished police Vehicles by Egba Development Organization at the state police command headquarters, Benin City, yesterday.
The Edo ComPol called on other communities to emulate Egba Community as the two refurbished Hilux vans would further enhance policing of Edo State.
He however assured the donors that, the vehicles will be put to good use towards checking criminal activities within Egba and its environs.
Earlier, while delivering the vehicle keys to the police commissioner, Vice President of Egba Development Organization, Mr Julius Onaghise, said the vehicles were refurbished at the cost of N3.7m.
Mr Onaghise added, “security is everybody’s business”, hence the gesture, which he noted was in fulfilment of an earlier promise made by the community to Egba Police division.
Onaghise who was in company of other members of the organization appealed to the police to ensure judicious use of the vehicles and enjoined others to support the command.
